Uber took to Twitter to announce its partnership with hospitals across India, to launch a new service called UberMedic.

The UberMedic service will include a 24/7 dedicated fleet to help healthcare professionals move with ease. This service aims to provide medical workers in the country assistance in booking a cab from their respective homes to the healthcare locations.

How to avail this service?

Healthcare centres and hospitals who are looking for mobility solutions for their workers are required to call on 080 46852190 between 0800 and 2000, or email at uberindia-covid-help@uber.com

As per the company’s statement, “Uber will facilitate top-rated drivers and dedicated cars to the hospitals through its platform. Keeping the safety of drivers in mind, and in line with government advisory, we will work with partner hospitals to provide drivers with personal protective equipment including hand sanitisers, gloves, disinfectant sprays, and face masks.

“Moreover, the drivers will be well trained in COVID-19 related safety protocols such as not allowing riders to sit in the front passenger seat. We will also provide dedicated phone support to our riders who use this service.”

Due to a 21-day lockdown, Uber has already suspended their services for the general public until April 14, 2020.
