Gujarat Police suspended and arrested two cops for skipping duty and offering prayers at a mosque. The duo offered prayers at a mosque in Dang district of Gujarat.

The suspended cops are identified as  Circle Inspector of Ahwa IB Ajmeri and Police Sub Inspector SS Daraiya.

According to reports, the duo was suspended after they skipped duty and went to a local mosque near Ahwa to offer namaz along with few other Muslim clerics. The two cops were suspended for defying the government’s order that does not allow the assembly of more than four persons during the lockdown.

A case has been registered against all the accused under IPC Section 188 and section 51(B) NDMA Act 2005.

Coronavirus in Gujarat:
The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat has jumped to 122 with 14 new patients being reported from the state, an official said on Sunday.

Out of the 14 new cases, 10 have a direct or indirect link to the religious congregation organised by Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin in Delhi last month, Principal Secretary (Health) Jayanti Ravi said.
