Man posing as Infosys employee who wanted to spread coronavirus detained by Bengaluru Police

Sandeep Patil, the joint commissioner of CCB, Bengaluru said, "The person who put up a post saying people should go out and sneeze and spread the virus has been detained. He has been identified as Mujeeb, who works in a software company. We have registered a case against him. He has been residing in Bengaluru for the last 25 years."

Bengaluru: A man claiming to be a senior technology architect at Infosys, Mujeeb Mohammad, took to Facebook and put out an objectionable post in the wake of the recent coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed 22,067 lives and infected 488,426 people globally so far.

Mujeeb posted his picture and captioned it stating, "Let's join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public." "Spread the virus," he added. Below the picture, the words "SPREAD THE WORD, TO END THE WORLD" was written in bold

Mujeeb has been detained and the cops are interrogating him.

After the post went viral, Infosys had to face the ire of Twitter users. The company took to Twitter and put out a reply.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country rose to 761 on Friday, while 20 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.
