White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Biden "believes that it is a woman’s right, it is a woman’s body and it is her choice,” in response to a reporter.

Amid the controversy over Texas’s anti-abortion law, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki rebuffed a male reporter at a daily briefing on Thursday and a video of the incident is a hit on social media.

At the briefing, a reporter questioned Psaki over President Joe Biden’s support for abortion rights. “Why does the President support abortion when his own Catholic faith teaches abortion as morally wrong?” the reporter asked.

Psaki said Biden "believes that it is a woman’s right, it is a woman’s body and it is her choice,” in response to a reporter.

When the male reporter asked who Biden believes should look out for the unborn child, Psaki replied: “He believes that it is up to a woman to make those decisions and up to a woman to make those decisions with her doctor.”

“I know you’ve never faced those choices, nor have you ever been pregnant," she continued, "but for women out there who have faced those choices, this is an incredibly difficult thing. The president believes their rights should be respected."

Psaki then refused to take any other questions from reporter Owen Jensen of EWTN, a Catholic news network.

The internet turned up in huge numbers to hail Psaki for her reply to the question as many Twitter users said how it should be a woman’s choice what and how to deal with the situation.

According to a republicworld.com report, it is worth mentioning that according to The Hill, Biden is a practising Catholic and he regularly attends Mass on the weekends. His views on abortion are at odds with the teachings of the church, however, they are in line with the majority of Catholic voters who say abortion should be legal in all or most cases.
