Even before the state could recover from the shameful and shocking incident of gangrape in Mysuru on August 24, a new viral video from North Karnataka's Yadagiri has one again made the state hang its head in shame.
A group of young men were seen assaulting a woman, stripping her naked and confirming with her whether she was in a video by showing a phone. The scared woman pleads with the accused to leave her and denies that she is not the one in the photo.
As soon as the news hit the social media, people started comparing the present Karnataka's law and order with UP and Bihar which is known for ill-treatment of women. Soon the District police registered a case and based on the technical evidence, four persons have been arrested and further investigation is on.
Honey trap suspected:
It is said that one of the accused had fallen for a honey trap and to avenge, rounded this woman seen in the video and wanted to confirm it was she who trapped him.
The woman can be heard telling in the video that she will fall at their feet to spare her from the torture and beatings. It is believed that the group caught hold of the victim and forced her to remove all her clothes and also touched her.
This shameful incident comes 18 days after the infamous robbery cum gangrape case in Mysuru. The victim was an MBA student and was raped by TN natives when she had gone out for a stroll at dusky hours in the hillock region of Lalithadripura with her male friend.
The cops managed to arrest all the accused in this connection and they have been sent to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, the survivor also has agreed to give her statement in this connection.
