The Indian Army has issued a Request For Information for the procurement of high-mobility vehicles for 155MM towed guns weighing up to 20 tonnes, which can be deployed at plains, mountains, high-altitude areas, semi-desert and desert terrains.
The Indian Army wants a total of 1750 high-mobility vehicles with 50 per cent indigenous content in equipment.
The RFI dated June 23 stated that the defence ministry intends to procure a gun-towing vehicle to identify probable Indian vendors who can undertake the said project.
