Britain virus shock: Schools will reopen, let us live in optimism: Karnataka Health Minister

Amidst three people testing positive for Britain virus in Bengaluru, the Health Minister has said there will be no change in plans pertaining to starting of schools and colleges for 10th and 12th class students. He asks people to stay optimistic.
 


Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said that there will be no change in plan regarding reopening schools and colleges and the government will go ahead with it's decision on starting classes for 10th and 9th standard students starting January 1st.

Interacting with media persons after three Bengaluru residents tested positive for Covid-19 also showed signs of new strain following tests results from NIV Pune, he said "No need to worry, all primary contacts have been traced."

He further added that, out of 26 passengers arriving from Britain who tested positive for Covid-19, all have been put under home quarantine. Those who tested positive for new strain will be kept in hospital isolation for 28 days instead of 14 days, Sudhakar added.

The minister also stated that as per earlier decision on starting of classes for students from 6th standard to 9th, classes will be held under revised Vidyagama with vigilance and standard operating procedures.

To a question on the new virus and it's impact on schools if started, the minister said, "Let us live in optimism, why so much negativity. "
