Mighty 'Buon Natale' procession paints Thrissur in red

  • The procession is accompanied by hundreds of Santa Clauses, giant floats and children.

The grand finale of Christmas celebrations concluded in Thrissur with 'Buon Natale'. Hundreds of Santa Clauses took part in the procession organised by the Archdiocese of Thrissur.

The procession was flagged off from St. Thomas ground by Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. After taking a tour of the city accompanied by different sets of bands, the procession will conclude at the St. Thomas ground. 

 


Giant life size floats of various cultural and religious themes; children dressed as angels also took part of the celebrations. 

 

The procession held on 28 December 2014 entered the Guinness World Records for having the largest number of people dressed up as Santa Claus.

 


With 18,112 Santa Clauses, the event was declared the largest gathering of Santa Claus by authorities of the Guinness World Records.
