Staying confined in your homes for very long can be difficult. This pandemic has taught us how to get through this period quite effortlessly.
One of the methods includes marvelling the nature around us. An instance of this has gone viral.
A bright 'Halo' around the sun was spotted in the sky around noon in Bengaluru on Monday. Locals enjoyed the spectacle in the sky, which looked as colourful as the colour of a rainbow.
Sun Halo, a celestial phenomenon of a perfect ring with the sun at the centre had many wondering if it was a Supernatural phenomenon. The phenomenon popularly known as the 22 degree circular halo of the Sun or occasionally the Moon (also called a moon ring or winter halo), occurs when the Sun's or Moon's rays get deflected refracted through the hexagonal ice crystals present in cirrus clouds.
These clouds contain millions of tiny ice crystals, which refract, split and even reflect the light to give an impression of a circular rainbow ring. The crystals have to be oriented and positioned just so with respect to your eye, in order for the halo to appear.
It's a very common phenomenon in the cold countries. But in our country it's occurrence is rare and cannot be predicted.
A lot of photos have been going viral not just on Twitter, but on other social media platforms as well as people from all across the city are sharing pictures of the phenomenon.NOTE: Asianet News humbly requests everyone to wear masks, sanitize, maintain social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as eligible.
