There are indications of a new equation before the Assembly election in West Bengal. BJP leader Mukul Roy visited the ashram of a TMC leader. Several other leaders of the ruling party were seen with him in the ashram premises. This has led to a lot of speculation in Birbhum.
Anukul Thakur's ashram was established in Nabhimaitpur village of Nalhati No. 2 block, by local Trinamool leader Vibhas Chandra Adhikari. He is also the block president of the party.
Every year, on the day of Anukul Thakur puja, a festival is held in the ashram for two days. Three years ago, Kailash Vijayavargiya, a BJP leader and then state observer in charge, attended the ashram's annual function. There was much debate over the incident.
BJP leader Mukul Roy reached Nabhamaitpur village of Nalhati near Murshidabad border from Kolkata in the afternoon of April 30. He went to the ashram of the Trinamool leader. After attending the function in the afternoon, he returned to Kolkata.
People raised the question, “Is Vibhas Chandra Adhikari, the founder of this ashram, joining the BJP?” Mukul Roy replied to this question and said, “He runs such a big ashram. Leaders of all religions, all political parties come to the ashram. That is why it is not right to assume that Vibhas Chandra Adhikari is joining the BJP.”
Trinamool president of Nalhati No. 2 block Vibhas Chandra Adhikari has claimed that Mukul Roy came to the ashram not for political reasons but for personal reasons.
