Coronavirus: Number of active cases dip further in West Bengal; recovery rate at 97.26 percent

The number of containment zones in Kolkata has already increased from one to two. According to Kolkata Municipality sources, the list of new containment zones includes two houses in Ballygunge area. Although the number of daily COVID-19 cases has dropped in Kolkata, but the number of containment zones has increased. 
 

According to the state health bulletin, 6 people died in a single day in West Bengal taking the toll to 10,179. The state on Monday (February 1) reported 179 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 5,70,177.
The state’s discharged rate is currently at 97.26 percent with 306 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

So far, a total of 5,54,578 people has recovered from COVID-19 in West Bengal. There are 5,420 active cases in the state at present.
Out of the 6 deaths, North 24 Parganas district accounted for four deaths, while one person each died in Kolkata and Hooghly.
According to the state health bulletin, the number of active cases in the state stands at 5,420. Total 18,168 samples were tested for COVID-19 during the day.
