CoWIN portal crashes as registrations open for vaccination for those above 18

Synopsis

The website was back online minutes later. But many users reported delay in getting OTP and page response times.

Just as the registration for vaccination of those above the age of 18 got underway, the CoWIN application crashed momentarily.

The CoWIN website servers were unable to handle the load that came to the portal at 4 pm sharp.

The website was back online minutes later. But many users reported delay in getting OTP and page response times.

 

 

After numerous complaints from people that they were unable to get appointments, the government announced that vaccination appointments for those above the age of 18 will be possible once the state governments and private vaccination centres schedule vaccination sessions.
