Karnataka caught between two Goddesses - Mahadayi and Cauvery

Rivers Cauvery and Mahadayi have been the bone of contention for Karnataka for over 60 years now. Though several water boards, tribunals have been formed in all these years, the problem is intact. The main reason for this being both the rivers are dependent on rainfall each year. Thus, the water releasing table also must change every year, according to the rainfall. But the states just want to stick to the tribunal or board report, which has allotted them a good share of water flow. It is easy to call the rivers as goddesses and make emotionally loaded statements. But can you really treat them like goddesses? Here is how Karnataka is facing the wrath of these two river Goddesses.
