Devotees throng Kolar to worship at the Kotilingeshwar on Shivarathri

Kotilingeshwara in Kolar is a meeting point for thousands of Lord Shiva's devotees across India. Today, on the occasion of Mahashivratri, devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have thronged the holy land. Kotilingeshwar is in Kammasandra village, Bangarpet taluk in Kolar district. Special puja will be held here and the 108-foot Shivalinga statue will be bathed in milk. The devotees will stay awake all through the night and will tell stories of Lord Shiva and his life. Lakhs of people will also beautify the 'Koti Lingas' in the temple
