Kathiramangalam protest still continues

The Kathiramangalam villagers have been protesting against ONGC's oil and gas extraction work. For the last six days, they have been cooking in wood stoves to show that they can cook even without gas.

They are demanding the release of 10 protestors including Professor Jayaraman and the close down of the company.

Today, hundreds of school and college students have staged a protest along with the villagers.

Earlier it was said that the women were abused and threatened with prostitution cases. Hence, the protest is often being led by the students to avoid such trouble.
