'Get ready for some legal action' AIADMK tells Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan’s onslaught on twitter against the ruling AADMK in Tamil Nadu may land him in legal trouble. Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister D. Jayakumar on Monday said the government would take legal action against actor Kamal Haasan if he continues his baseless corruption charges.

Haasan is seeking cheap publicity and the state government will take legal action against him if he continues levelling baseless charges against the government", IANS quoted Jayakumar saying.

The actor who has signaled his entry into politics and has been relentless in basing the AIADMK, recently tweeted, “It is a crime if the government is involved in looting. It is also a crime if it is not proved after detection.”

"Criminals should not rule the country. The people and the government elected by them should act. The people should be the umpire. Let us all wake up and arise," he wrote in his tweet.

Haasan did not make any reference to the recent Income Tax Department raids on the official homes of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala's family and business associates.

Tax officials have said unaccounted wealth worth Rs 1,430 crore has been found during the raids.
