Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed readiness to step down if directed by the party leadership. He hinted at Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar's potential succession. Siddaramaiah anticipated a fractured outcome in the Lok Sabha elections, foreseeing Congress securing 15-20 seats in Karnataka. He also suggested he wouldn't stay in electoral politics beyond four years.

Karnataka's Home Minister, Dr. G. Parameshwar, emphasised that the High Command will determine the Congress party's participation in the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Stressing a universal approach to the issue, he stated, "Not only are the BJP's Hindus, we are also Hindus." 
 

Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole said that secretive interactions between NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and his nephew and state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were generating confusion among the public. The Congress leader stated that the developments are a matter of concern for his party. 

DK Shivakumar has been named as Karnataka Deputy CM by Congress High Command. Speaking about the development, he said, "The party high command has taken a decision." He further said he is ready to sacrifice the position for the party.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has unanimously authorised All India Congress Committee (AICC) President M Mallikarjun Kharge to pick its leader, who will be the next chief minister of the state.

The decision came a day after newly elected Congress MLAs passed a resolution authorising the Congress's high command to choose the legislature party's next leader. On Saturday, the Congress high command approved the names.
