The film Wonder Woman could have been a fantasy film, but for the real courage that the lead actor Gal Gadot showed, the credibility of the movie reached a notch higher. Breaking stereotypes of a 5-month pregnant woman, Gadot did all she had to do for the film- from battle scenes to close combats. There was nothing left to today's animation techniques.
After tennis superstar Senera William's Australian Open fete when she was 2 month's pregnant, this Hollywood superstar is the second one who deserves a standing ovation. Being pregnant and staying true to your profession is really a difficult task. But, these women fought everything related to pregnancy and gave the best to the world. When a few scenes of the movie were being re-shot in November, six months after the original filming was completed, Gadot was five months pregnant with her second child- Maya.
The producers had to use CGI to conceal the baby bump that was prominent when Gadot was filming. They had to cut out a triangle in front of her costume and had to replace it with a green cloth to make it for the visual effects. Gadot laughed as she spoke to the Entertainment Weekly and said, "On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman. On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog."
The director of the film-Jenkins- said that she was asked to do a lot of things while re-shooting the scenes. She laughed off, "Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you're doing it. Now it's raining in the freezing cold and you've lost your voice, go. Every day it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it. Now, at least, we will be able to tell her daughter Maya that she's in her mom's stomach right then, in the middle of that battle scene."
