Saudi to ensure 220000 jobs for its citizens

Saudi Arabia, which hosts the largest number of migrants in Gulf region, has decided to implement a new policy which will ensure jobs for 2,20,000 natives. The move aims to provide more employment opportunities for its citizens and to narrow the wage gap between nationals and migrants.

Saudi Minister of Labor and Social Development Ali bin Nasser al-Ghafis said the ministry plans to introduce more nationals in private sector and to achieve targeted rates within 2020 National Transformation program. The move aims to secure job opportunities for citizens by creating proper working environment for them, give importance to human resource development and to organise the labour market to achieve social and economic development.

The ministry is working in partnership with the private sector by conducting workshops and 'making decisions together' gate, where it posts its drafts for consultation with community and businesses. The ministry is also planning to reward enterprises that achieve satisfactory ratio.
