IT Dept lauches a online system for non resident taxpayers

On March 8, the International Tax Wing of the IT department located in Bengaluru launched two new online services for non-resident taxpayers. The online services include providing Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) certificates to the non-resident taxpayers and also No Objection Certificate (NoC) to the non-resident ships and also to their agents.

Apart from filing applications for these certificates, the non-resident taxpayers will be able to track the status of their application using this online system.

The online initiative is one big step towards the taxpayers’ services area; the Deccan Herald quoted Principal Chief Commissioner of Karnataka and Goa region, Nutan Wodeyar, as saying.

The new online system can be used by companies who pay their employees in abroad and by those resident companies who pay to parties outside India. Also, any cargo ship that leaves India needs an NoC by the IT department, and now the online system has made the process easier.

Now, cargo ships or the agents can file an online application which will be a one-time requirement applicable for all voyages separately. The non-resident taxpayers can scan and upload their documents required for applying for the certificates.

Both the services can be accessed through www.incometaxbengaluru.in
