FollowThe Idukki police has arrested a youth after he streamed intimate moments with a woman on Facebook Live, in what is suspected to be case of revenge porn.
Linu, 23, who works at a hotel in Nedumkandam, was arrested on Friday after the woman registered a complaint with the Adimali police. He has now been remanded to judicial custody.Â
In her complaint, the woman says that though she knew Linu was recording the video, she didn't know that it was going up on Facebook. The woman also alleged that Linu forced himself on her. However, the police have reportedly stated that the rape charge might not stick as the visuals do not corroborate that the sex was forced.

The police said they have found more intimate videos of the two in Linu's phone though they are yet to find out why he chose to stream the video on Facebook Live the last time. The couple allegedly had a fallout and hence the possibility of revenge porn has not been ruled out.
Though the video has been taken down from Facebook, several FB users downloaded it, and it has been circulating on messenger apps such as WhatsApp for the last few days. Several popular porn websites also have it.
Meanwhile, the woman's twin sister has also approached the police, alleging that the video has caused her humiliation as several people she knows mistook her for her sister. She has asked that steps be taken so that the video is removed from porn sites immediately.
