Mimicry and dubbing artist Kalabhavan Sajan passed away at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital on Monday. He was at 50.
Sajan was undergoing treatment for liver related ailments. He was shifted to the ICU on Saturday after his condition turned critical.
Dubbing artist and social activist Bhagya Lakshmi announced the sad news through her Facebook page. Sajan's body will be kept at his residence near Chitranjali Studio in the capital before being taken to his native Kothamangalam in Ernakulam later in the day.
Some reports claim that the medical college authorities had failed to provide even a bed to Sajan at the time of admission. A photo of him photo lying on a hospital floor was widely circulated on social media recently.
Meanwhile, rumour-mongers spread Sajan's death news with an image of parody artist turned actor Sajan Palluruthy, leading to confusion.
Palluruthy finally had to post a video on Facebook, from a shooting location, to dismiss the hoax and confirm that he is in good health.
"Friends, I saw a news being shared on social media along with my photo this morning. It's a hoax and I request you not to spread it. I am currently at a shooting location of a movie. I decided to post this video message as several people have been calling me since morning," Palluruthy says in the video message.
