#ISupportDileep: PR agency roped in to campaign for actor, police not worried

FollowThe Kerala police said they are not worried about the ongoing PR campaign for actor Dileep, who was arrested on charges of conspiracy in the Kochi actress attack case.
Though the general public's initial reaction to the arrest was in support of the police, there has been a pro-Dileep campagin on social media for the last few days. Several posts favouring the actor have appeared on Facebook and Twitter with hashtags, such as #ISupportDileep and #Dileepinoppam (with Dileep).
It later emerged that Dileep's camp has roped in a leading PR agency for damage control and to protect the actor's sagging image. The agency is believed to be very active on social media, trying to save his reputation from further deterioration.

Some reports had claimed that the police are looking into these PR efforts. However, IG Manoj Abraham said that there is nothing illegal in doing PR efforts.
"Carrying out PR is anyone's rights. The problem arises if there is any violation of cyber rules and regulations. The Kerala Police Cyberdome is not looking into this PR exercise at all," IANS quoted the senior officer as saying.
Land grab row: Probe ordered against Dileep's D Cinemaas
Dileep was arrested on July 10 and was remanded to a 14-day judicial custody.  The police decided to nab the actor based on 19 pieces of evidence that they were able to gather in connection with the case.
The police had earlier arrested the prime accused, Pulsar Sunil, and his accomplices a week after the incident on February 17.
