- Dr Sudhakar is the legislator of Chikkaballapur constituency
- He is reportedly upset with Veerappa Moily's supporters demanding resignation of his father who is ZP president
- Senior leaders have now rushed to Sudhakar's residence to convince him to change his mind
Congress legislator Dr Sudhakhar who had threatened to quit the party on July 7 has now changed his mind. Reports suggested that Congress leaders Dinesh Gundurao and Ramalinga Reddy convinced Dr Sudhakar to withdraw from his decision to quit the party.
Dr Sudharkar had tweeted on July 6 that he was resigning on July 7 at 11 am. As the news spread like wildfire, the Congress leaders rushed to his residence in Sadashivanagar to control the damage. Dr Sudhakar's tweet on resignation plans had certainly shaken the ruling Congress which is grappling with party leaders' migration, of late when the state will go for elections next year.

In fact, Sudhakar's tweet has exposed the fact that all is not well in the Congress in Chikkaballapur. It has been earlier reported that Sudhakar was upset with the party seniors, especially former union minister M Veerappa Moily. However, it was a meeting organised by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) held on Thursday that triggered Sudhakar to take the extreme decision, reports Suvarna News. At the Thursday's meeting, Veerappa Moily's supporters had openly opposed against Keshava Reddy, father of Dr Sudhakar who is also Chikkaballapur Zilla Panchayat president. They had also demanded Keshav Reddy's resignation from ZP. This could have forced Sudhakar to say good bye to the Congress, it is reported.
Earlier, it is reported that, Moily had allegedly blocked Sudhakar's way up during the Cabinet expansion. This had angered the young MLA, it was reported. Now, opposition to his father by Moily's supporters was a bit too much. Irked at this, Sudhakar has decided to quit the party, it is reported. Upset over it, Sudhakar's supporters have reportedly pelted stones on Moily's residence to vent their anger.
