Equine trainer makes Rs 500 crores in 6 months

The strange case of Michael Floyd Eshwer, a horse trainer at Mysore Race Course, becoming the whole and sole heir, as ‘adopted son’,  to the world renowned taxidermist, the legendary Edwin Joubert Van Ingen, who died a bachelor 4 years ago at his house in Nazarbad, Mysuru, has not yet seen a logical end.  Michael Eshwer is now leading a luxurious life. The CID has been instructed by the Supreme Court to investigate into Eshwer’s claims and submit a report within one month.

Edwin Ingen came to Mysuru along with his parents during the British Raj and stayed back.  His house Bisal Munty, opposite to Police Academy, is said to contain crores worth rare treasure. Michel Eshwer came into contact with Van Ingen in 2005 when Ingen asked Eshwer to find a buyer for his 5 acres of vacant land in front of Bisal Munty.  Eshwer decided to exploit the already old Edwin Ingen. He sold the land to Prestige Group for Rs 20 crores and convinced Ingen that he had sold the land for higher than the market rate and gave him only Rs 3 crores.  The rest Rs 17 crores he pocketed.

Edwin was sick and trusted Eshwer and opened a joint account in the bank. In 2008 Eshwer withdrew Rs 50 lakhs from the account. When Edwin’s assistant came to know of it she alerted Edwin.  When questioned, Eshwer threatened Edwin. Scarred for life Edwin kept quiet.  Edwin had sold 35 acres of coffee plantation to a man from Kerala and kept the rest of 205 acres with him. Eshwer made Edwin sign papers that he had adopted Eshwer and his son and registered the coffee plantation as a gift made to him by Edwin.

Eshwer made Edwin sell the Bisal Munty to him for Rs 75 lakhs. Later he shut in a dog’s room.  In 2013, a relative of Edwin Telli Giffard came to visit him. Edwin narrated his pathetic condition and reported all the wrong Eshwer was doing. Telly took the old Edwin to Nazarbad Police Station and lodged a complaint. However, before the case could be completed Edwin dies in 2013. In 2015 the High Court ruled favouring Eshwer. Edwin’s relative went to Supreme Court and now the Supreme Court has directed CID DGP to reinvestigate into the case and submit a report in 60 days. Kishore Chandra, CID DGP said investigation will be taken up and reported to the Supreme Court.
