As Asianet Newsable had speculated earlier, post-Parappana Agrahara jail revelations, The Karnataka Government has directed to transfer DIG Roopa as the Traffic Commissioner, and DGP HN Sathyanarayana has been transferred from Bengaluru Prisoners but has not been allotted any post so far.

DIG Roopa will now be the and Deputy Inspector of Police and Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety, Bengaluru. She will take the position of Dr ASN Murthy who was also transferred. However, DGP HN Sathyanarayana who has just a month to retire has not been allowed any post and is likely that will be sent on leave.

Bengaluru Prison's DIG, Roopa in a letter on July 12 addressed to the Prisons DGP Satyanarayana Rao had listed several findings that reportedly highlight the wrongdoings in the jail including the 'fact' that Sasikala had paid Rs 2 crore to have her own special kitchen and other privileges.

This has created a furore in the prisons department, and DGP had refuted any such charges. DIG Roopa had also alleged that DGP Sathyanarayana knew what was going on inside the prison.

However, soon then DGP Sathyanarayana wrote a letter accusing Roopa of dereliction of duty, not attending the meeting, etc.

However, after almost a week, following the blame game, prisoners who supported Roopa being shifted to Bellary jail, reports of them being between up, other footages of DIG Roopa's visit to the jail, ganja and other things being sold inside the Parappana Agrahara jail, birthdays celebrated with giant cakes by murder accused inside the jail etc, the government has taken this action now.
