RCB never looked like they were in the game, but they bounced back brilliantly and took control of the proceedings.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) just registered an incredible win as they pulled out a ripper out of Delhi Dardevils' pocket. RCB thwarted the Daredevils by 15 runs in a game that never looked like it was in the home side's favour until the first half. RCB batsmen failed yet again and the absence of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers was felt yet again. Kedar Jadhav was the lone ranger as he smashed 69 from just 37 balls to put up a respectable total on the scoreboard.
RCB had posted 157 runs on the board and nine out of 10 times the fans would have believed that the Delhi Daredevils should have won that match but the script was written differently. RCB kept on fighting and hung in there right till the end and the Daredevils just lost wickets at regular intervals and that opened up the game for the host. Rishabh Pant deserves every bit of respect as he played one of the best innings in this IPL so far but unfortunately he could could not drive his side over the line. His half-century went in vain as Delhi Daredevils fell short by 15 runs.
RCB bowlers Billy Stanlake, Yuzvendra Chahal, Pawan Negi and the stand-in skipper Shane Watson bowled exceedingly well. Opting for Negi in the final over, when DD required 19 runs, was a risky move from Watson but it paid off. Negi removed Pant from the very first ball and turned the tide in RCB's favour. This win will give RCB a major boost to the their confidence for the rest of the IPL 2017 as they are still without Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
