He is one of those rising youngsters, who are being nurtured under the watchful eyes of none other than Rahul Dravid. Samson was an integral part of the Rajasthan Royals, but the franchise was suspended. But it hardly took very little time for him to find himself in another franchise - Delhi Daredevils.
The thing with Samson is he scores big when it matters the most. When his back was against the wall, the force that came from within, was somewhat unstoppable. And it was then, Samson went on to score a scintillating hundred and the first of IPL 2017 against Rising Pune Supergiant few days ago.
Sanju Samson had yet another underwhelming Ranji season. He was not scoring runs at all. He did not have a single fifty-plus score in his last 16 T20 innings before he scored that century against RPS. He was facing disciplinary issues from the Kerala Cricket Association.
Now, all of a sudden, Samson is the highest run-getter for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017 so far. He has scored 134 runs in 3 matches and one can be rest assured, this timid-looking lad is going to pile up some more runs by the end of IPL 2017.
