A month old as the lawmaker of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has seemingly surpassed many expectations. True to his promise till date, the leader has already started winning hearts and accolades. Otherwise known for his controversial statements, Adityanath has recently become popular for his development fetes in Uttar Pradesh. 

March 19th is a significant date in the political history of BJP. Unlike all expectations, the saffron brigade marched into Uttar Pradesh, toppling the SP government and turning the poll tables in its favour. Amid debates of his appointment as the leader of the state that has a sizeable muslim population, Adityanath has managed to amaze both his followers and critics.

Here's how.

Farmer welfare and development: As promised in his poll campaign, he has declared a farm loan waiver, covering small and marginal farmers who have incurred a debt of up to Rs 1 lakh. He has also promised procurement of agricultural products at minimum support price. Hence, he has decided to buy potato Rs 487 per quintal. He has also directed sugar mills to clear a farmer's old dues within 120 days and the current ones within 14 days.

Law and order: He has created anti-Romeo squads to curb the occurrence of eve-teasing and sexual harassment.

Anti-corruption move: All the ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats under his banner have been asked to furnish the details of their income and movable and immovable assets. He has initiated the e-tendering process for urban development and public works. 

Acedemics: As promised, he has initiated review meetings to chart new rules to check high fees.

Improved infrastructure: Directives have been put in place to fill up all potholes by June 15. 18 hours of continuous electricity has also been promised in rural areas. 

VIP culture shunned: Adityanath has directed his colleagues not to use red beacons on top of their vehicles.

Swachch bharat mission: A review meeting has been set up to conduct a survey of toilets in the city. This is in sync with his poll campaign agenda which promises of toilets in every household in the next five years.

The Ganga cleaning program: The leather industries located on the banks of the river are scheduled to be relocated. Special attention to be given to the cleanliness of the river.

Animal care: Illegal slaughter houses have been shut and mechanised slaughter dens to be constrained. 

Healthcare: A review meeting has been set up, which has decided to open 25 medical colleges across the state in the next 5 years. He also decided on starting an ICU ambulance, complete with advance life support system. Each district in Uttar Pradesh is likely to have at least two ICU ambulances.

Ban on pan masala, plastic and gutka: Adityanath ordered this ban in all government establishments.

Probe in Gomti river front project: The much-hyped project launched by former chief minister of up- Akhilesh Yadav had visible financial irregularities. Just two weeks into power, Yogi Adityanath constituted a judicial probe into the project.
