Chittoor district YSRCP leader Peddireddy to foot the bill for YS Jagans Mahapadayatra

The most prestigious mahapadayatra of YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy will commence from November 2nd for six months covering a distance of 3,000 kms.

He would be accompanied by many party leaders and hundreds of party workers who require accommodation, food and vehicles. Expenses for six months would be immense and none of the party leaders are reported to be in a position to finance the padayatra as they have no income.

Realising the predicament of his leaders, YS Jagan promised to bear all the expenses of the padayatra giving relief to the leaders.

But Chittoor district YSRCP leader and MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy felt that it wouldn’t be wise for YS Jagan to foot the whole bill and came forward to meet all the expenses of the padayatra along with his son PV Mithun Reddy, who is also the Rajampet MP.

Politically speaking, when a leader is supported during his padayatra, the person wins future recognition. This has always been seen in political history. When former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy proposed his padayatra in 2004, many leaders came forward to assist him and they were amply rewarded after YSR came to power. Some were even given Rajya Sabha seats.

Similarly when the present CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu commenced his padayatra in 2012, he was assisted by Garikapati Rammohan Rao who was facilitated with a Rajya Sabha seat.
